Robot Vacuum Dock Maintenance Checklist: Bags, Tanks, Brushes and Trays

Concept illustration of robot vacuum dust and water handling at a dock.

Build your robot-vacuum maintenance routine around individual components: the dust system, water tanks, brush, mop and station tray. Record what each part needs and where you will perform the task. This checklist focuses on maintaining the machine you own, with the exact manufacturer instructions taking priority over any generic schedule.

Start by writing your full model and dock name beside the maintenance checklist. The Roomba 105 Vac with AutoEmpty and Combo 10 Max with AutoWash have different care requirements. Use only the rows applicable to your package, and copy permitted cleaning methods and replacement guidance from its own manual.

TaskQuestion to answer before buying
Dust bag or collection systemHow is it removed and replaced?
Clean-water tankCan I lift and refill it comfortably?
Dirty-water tankWhere will I empty and clean it?
Brush and wheelsCan I reach trapped debris?
Mop or rollerWhat inspection and replacement steps apply?
Dock tray and filtersWhich parts are removable and washable?

Read the maintenance table first

Use the manufacturer's exact schedule for your model. An app reminder can help, but it does not replace inspection when something sounds different, a component looks dirty or performance changes. Avoid applying one brand's filter-washing instructions to another model.

eufy provides a model-specific accessory cleaning and replacement schedule for S1 Pro. Its usefulness is the component-by-component approach. It should not be copied as a universal timetable for every robot in this series.

Three ownership situations

For a small home with light dry debris, dust-emptying convenience may address the main repetitive task. For a large hard-floor home, a washing dock may reduce the frequency of handling the mop directly, while adding water-system tasks. For an owner who dislikes carrying tanks, dock placement and the sink route need explicit attention.

Before purchase, rehearse the movements using the published dimensions: stand in front of the proposed dock, imagine opening it and lifting each container. A station that fits on the floor may still be awkward to service beneath a shelf.

Keep a short intervention log

During early ownership, note what you did and why. Separate scheduled maintenance, floor preparation and unexpected rescue. This gives you a fairer picture of convenience than a single elapsed runtime. Your robot may operate for an hour while requiring very little attention, or complete quickly after substantial preparation.

Choose the dock that reduces the chores you most want to reduce while leaving a manageable care routine. “Self” describes specific automation, not the end of ownership work.
