But “autonomous” is a big word. Does Posha really cook for you, or does it merely move the work to a different part of the evening? This review separates the useful automation from the tasks that remain yours.
What Posha is designed to automate
According to Posha, the machine uses an integrated camera and software to detect cooking stages. It can add preloaded ingredients at the required moment, adjust heat, and stir at different speeds. Those actions matter because they replace the repetitive attention that makes stovetop cooking difficult on a busy weekday.
- Timing: ingredients can be released during the recipe instead of being added manually at every stage.
- Heat control: the system changes heat as the dish develops.
- Stirring: the robot manages the repeated mixing that sauces, curries and stews often need.
- Cooking-stage detection: its camera is intended to help the system respond to what is happening in the pan.
This is the central difference between Posha and many guided smart cookers. Guided cooking tells the user what to do next. Posha tries to perform more of those next steps itself.
What you still have to do
Posha does not make groceries appear, wash vegetables or place every ingredient into the machine. You still choose a recipe, buy the food, complete the required preparation and load the ingredients. Depending on the recipe, that can include washing, peeling, cutting or measuring.
You also have to serve the meal and clean the food-contact parts afterward. Posha describes setup as plug-in and straightforward and promotes the product as easy to clean, but “easy” is not the same as “zero cleanup.” Buyers should judge the full workflow: preparation, loading, cooking, serving and washing.
What can it cook?
Posha’s public recipe examples include butter chicken, spaghetti Bolognese, beef and broccoli, shakshuka, mac and cheese, Kung Pao tofu, soups and stews. The catalog spans vegetarian, vegan, kid-friendly, protein-rich, low-carb and slow-cooked categories.
That range is encouraging, but recipe-library fit matters more than the raw number of recipes. Before buying, list ten dinners your household already eats. Then check whether the system supports similar ingredients, portion sizes and dietary restrictions. A robot that cooks hundreds of meals you do not want is less useful than one that reliably handles five weekly favorites.
Posha’s strongest appeal
The best case for Posha is not that it replaces a talented home cook. It is that it can rescue the hours when nobody has the attention to stand over a pan. Families, busy professionals and people who repeatedly order delivery because cooking feels mentally exhausting may gain the most value.
It is less compelling for buyers who enjoy improvising at the stove, dislike advance ingredient preparation or expect a machine to perform the entire journey from unopened groceries to a spotless kitchen.
Posha vs Thermomix TM7 in one sentence
Posha is the more automation-first idea: load ingredients and let the machine manage more of the cooking sequence. Thermomix TM7 is the more mature all-in-one cooking system: it combines chopping, blending, weighing, steaming and many other functions with step-by-step guided recipes.
That distinction is more useful than asking which product has the longer feature list. Choose Posha if your biggest problem is staying beside the pan. Choose TM7 if you want one versatile appliance to help you prepare and cook a much wider range of components.
Verdict: Is Posha worth considering in 2026?
Yes—if unattended attention is the problem you are paying to solve. Posha’s camera, automated ingredient timing, heat control and stirring give it a clearer claim to the “robot chef” label than most smart multicookers. The trade-off is that you still own the shopping, preparation, loading and cleanup.
Do not buy it because “AI” sounds futuristic. Buy it only if removing active stovetop supervision would change how often your household eats freshly cooked food.
